Gulf Coast Animal Eye Clinic seeks board-certified or residency-trained Veterinary Ophthalmologists. We currently have five doctors and two Houston locations. We are privately owned and have been since 1987. In 2022, Jamie Herrmann and Lynsey Wagner purchased the practice from Kohle Herrmann and Jim Swanson. The family atmosphere remains unchanged. Dr. K. Herrmann, Dr. Swanson, Dr. Glaze, Dr. J. Herrmann, and Dr. Wagner would love to meet you!
Our Campbell Road location is located in the heart of the Memorial area of Houston. This is a very sought-after area with highly-rated schools and all the amenities you could ask for. This practice is approximately 5000 sq. ft.
Our Bay Area location (Gulf Freeway) is located in a 10,000 sq. ft. multispecialty clinic. We have dedicated exam rooms and our own surgical suite. The ophthalmology team works closely with critical care, internal medicine, cardiology, and surgery to provide top-notch patient care. Patients also benefit from a CT scan and fluoroscopy. This location serves suburbs such as League City, Friendswood, Clear Lake, and the beach town of Galveston.

Why consider Houston, Texas?
Houston is the nation’s fourth largest city and has been ranked #9 in the list of America’s Best Cities. It is known for its culture, diversity, award-winning cuisine and numerous Fortune 500 company headquarters. The cost of living is very reasonable, and the city is known for its connection to space exploration, exquisite food scene, numerous professional sports teams, the energy industry, museums and cultural institutions, and resilience in the face of adversity. These things have put Houston on the map as a vibrant and dynamic city that has something to offer everyone.
In Houston, much of daily life happens outdoors, thanks to mild, year-round temperatures. Discover a thriving professional arts scene with professional resident companies in ballet, opera, symphony, and theater, making Houston one of the few U.S. cities that can boast the same. The nearby Museum District stakes its claim as the country’s fourth largest with 18 cultural powerhouses set within blocks of one another. Throughout the year, farmers’ markets and food/beverage/music festivals are common in all areas of the city.
Houston even has its version of Central Park with more than 600 hectares of green space in the heart of the city. Just inside "the loop," an interstate highway around the city, Memorial Park is home to a public golf course, swimming pool, tennis courts, trails, and more. Downtown, Discovery Green is a park with Wi-Fi, a farmers' market, dog runs, fine dining, and ice skating during the winter. It is just one more of the 650-plus urban green spaces filling the city.
Businesses also recognize Houston’s allure. Twenty-five companies on the Fortune 500 list call the Energy Capital of the World home. Aeronautic research is unsurpassed at NASA headquarters – the facility responsible for putting the first man on the moon – and Texas Medical Center remains the largest in the world with 47 highly lauded research and treatment institutions.
Houston is a mix of international appeal and Southern charm. We hope that you consider our practice and chose to call this special city home.
