Dr. Ron Sigler In Memoriam
Dr. Ronald Lee Sigler, DVM, DACVO, passed away at his home on March 3, 2022. He practiced as a veterinarian at Sun City Animal Hospital until 1980, when, as Arizona’s first veterinary ophthalmologist, he sold Sun City Animal Hospital and opened the state’s first veterinary eye clinic, Animal Eye Specialists. In 1995, he sold his practice to Eye Care for Animals, and continued working with them until his retirement, in 2018, at age 80. During his distinguished career, he was awarded Arizona's Veterinarian of the Year in 2015, and inducted into the Arizona Veterinary Medical Association Hall of Fame in 2017. Ron believed that his faith in God played a key role in his lifelong commitment to service and care for animals and people. He enjoyed hiking, sailing, wildlife, camping, petroglyph hunting, and developing meaningful relationships with others.
Memorial service will be held on April 2, at 5 pm, at Glendale Seventh-day Adventist Church, 6801 N. 43rd Ave, Phoenix, AZ.
